History of Our Association

Who are we?

The For Renewal Environmental Association was founded with the vision of fostering environmental awareness, youth engagement, and sustainable development across Hungary. Since its inception, the association has dedicated itself to promoting the social integration of young people through various initiatives, forming a vibrant community of youth leaders, and supporting non-formal education and professional development in Budapest and surrounding regions.

Our journey began with the recognition of key challenges faced by Hungarian youth, including environmental concerns, migration from small towns to larger cities, and the need for more opportunities in self-development and active citizenship. In response, our association set out to create impactful programs that address these issues, focusing on sustainability, environmental conservation, and youth empowerment.

Over the years, we have successfully established collaborations with academia, municipalities, private enterprises, and other non-governmental organizations to expand our reach and effectiveness. Our work spans multiple areas, including combating pollution, protecting biodiversity, promoting recycling and green transformation, and raising awareness about climate change. Through workshops, training programs, and volunteer activities, we have provided countless young people with essential skills and knowledge to engage in their communities actively.

One of our key milestones was the organization of numerous ecology-related projects, where we demonstrated best practices in conservation, sustainable living, and environmental protection. Our efforts in safeguarding Hungary’s forested areas have solidified our reputation as a leading advocate for ecological responsibility.

The For Renewal Environmental Association has also played an active role in international projects, such as Erasmus+ initiatives, where we have collaborated with youth from diverse cultural backgrounds, enhancing our expertise in project management and intercultural dialogue. Notably, our successful projects, such as The Endless Journey of Plastic and our participation in 'Later' Means Too Late, reflect our commitment to addressing pressing environmental and social issues on both national and international levels.

Today, we continue to grow and evolve, driven by our mission to empower young people, protect nature, and build a more sustainable future. Through our dedication and collaborative spirit, we remain committed to being a catalyst for positive change in Hungary and beyond.

The For Renewal Environmental Association is committed to creating a sustainable future by integrating environmental awareness, youth engagement, and community development. Our key objectives include:
