Our Project: Transition of Traditional Brown Economy to Green Economy

The For Renewal Environmental Association successfully hosted an impactful youth exchange project titled "Transition of Traditional Brown Economy to Green Economy" in Budapest from May 10th to 17th, 2025. The project brought together passionate young participants from Turkey, Italy, Romania, Czechia, and Portugal, aiming to raise awareness and drive action on key environmental issues, such as green transformation, recycling, and sustainable development.

Over the course of the week, participants engaged in a variety of workshops, interactive discussions, and hands-on activities focused on the critical importance of environmental sustainability. The project emphasized green skills, the benefits of green transformation, and the urgent need for recycling to reduce the global carbon footprint and protect natural resources for future generations.

The youth exchange provided a unique platform for participants to learn about resource efficiency, the use of renewable energy, and the principles of a circular economy—all while promoting responsible consumption and production practices. Through collaborative learning and cross-cultural exchanges, participants not only deepened their understanding of environmental challenges but also discovered their personal roles in the transition to a greener and more sustainable world.

One of the key highlights of the project was the active participation of each country’s youth in sharing their cultural experiences, environmental challenges, and solutions, strengthening the sense of global unity in addressing the shared challenge of climate change and environmental degradation.

At the conclusion of the project, participants returned to their home countries with newfound knowledge, a stronger sense of responsibility, and a commitment to driving positive change in their communities. The exchange has had a profound impact, equipping young people with the tools, motivation, and network to champion sustainable development practices in their daily lives and future careers.
