Exploring Climate Challenges Through Research, Dialogue, and International Cooperation

The Erasmus+ Mobility of Youth Workers project “Climate Guardians: Youth Workers for a Cleaner Tomorrow” (Project No. 2024-1-LT02-KA153-YOU-000205187) took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 6 to 12 October 2024. Hosted by Delta Environmental Association VšĮ, the project brought together youth workers from Lithuania, Poland, Iceland, Türkiye, and Hungary to strengthen their knowledge and cooperation on climate action. As a project partner, For Renewal Environmental Association actively contributed to this international learning experience, promoting collaboration and the exchange of good practices in environmental sustainability.

Through the Climate Inquiry sessions, participants explored the scientific foundations of climate change and the concept of the Anthropocene. Presentations, collaborative research, and group discussions enabled them to examine current data on the climate crisis, enhancing their abilities in critical thinking, information analysis, and evidence-based communication while fostering a deeper sense of environmental responsibility.

Country reports offered a valuable opportunity to compare the realities of climate change across different national contexts. By presenting the challenges, causes, and consequences experienced in their home countries, participants refined their research and public-speaking skills while gaining a broader understanding of the global and interconnected nature of environmental issues.

Political inquiry studies encouraged participants to investigate international agreements, national measures, and innovative policies addressing the climate crisis. The exchange of good practices inspired constructive debate and collaborative problem-solving, helping youth workers identify effective strategies that can be adapted to their own communities and organizations.

The collective creation of a practical guidebook and the subsequent evaluation activities consolidated the learning process. By documenting key findings, action plans, and recommendations, participants transformed knowledge into tangible resources, while reflective discussions and assessments strengthened their analytical skills. The experience concluded with a vibrant Polish Cultural Night, highlighting the importance of intercultural dialogue and solidarity in building a sustainable future.
