Understanding the Causes of Extinction: Knowledge and Ideas Unite to Protect Nature

The Erasmus+ KA152 Youth Exchange project “Harmony in Diversity” (Project No: 2025-3-HU01-KA152-YOU-000376909), coordinated by Megújulásért Környezetvédelmi Egyesület, continues to bring together young people from Turkey, Romania, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, and Hungary in Budapest, Hungary.🌍

On the fifth day of the project, participants took part in a series of educational workshops and activities aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the threats faced by endangered species. The day began with a tree and plant planting activity focused on promoting a more sustainable future. By engaging directly with nature, participants strengthened their sense of environmental responsibility and experienced firsthand the importance of individual contributions to ecosystem protection.🦉

The day continued with the “The Web of Extinction” workshops, where participants analyzed the factors contributing to species extinction through group discussions and collaborative activities. Through brainstorming sessions and creative presentations, they explored issues such as habitat loss, climate change, pollution, and unsustainable consumption. In addition, seminars led by experts in ornithology and zoology provided valuable scientific insights, helping participants develop a more comprehensive understanding of biodiversity loss and conservation challenges.✨

During the second half of the day, participants joined the “Conservation Strategy Session” activities, where they worked together to develop practical solutions for protecting endangered species. By discussing the responsibilities of individuals, local communities, and policymakers, participants explored effective approaches to wildlife conservation, sustainable urban development, and habitat protection. These activities strongly supported the project’s core objectives of raising environmental awareness, encouraging active citizenship, and empowering young people to create sustainable solutions for environmental challenges.

Through a combination of experiential learning, expert guidance, and international cooperation, the fifth day of Harmony in Diversity equipped participants with the knowledge, skills, and motivation needed to become active advocates for biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability. 🌿
